Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
First Papers handles some of the most personal documents a family owns. That only works if you can trust us with them. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who sees it and how long we keep it. If anything is unclear, write to us at firstpapersteam@gmail.com.
1. The short version
- We collect what your applications need, and nothing more.
- Your documents are used to prepare your applications, and for nothing else.
- We never sell your data, and we never share it for advertising.
- We keep your data only as long as needed, and we delete it when you ask.
2. Who we are
First Papers is operated by First Papers Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company incorporated in India with its registered office in Mumbai, Maharashtra. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary for the personal data you share with us.
3. What we collect
Information you give us. Your name and contact details, and the details and documents an application actually requires: passports, birth certificates, Aadhaar, photographs, addresses and similar records. Because many applications are for children, this often includes your child's information, which you provide as their parent or legal guardian. By uploading a family member's documents, you confirm you have their authority to share them; for a child, that you are their parent or legal guardian and consent to us processing their information for the application. Their information gets the same protection, use and retention rules as yours.
Information collected automatically. Basic usage and device data, such as the pages you visit and the browser you use, so the service works properly and we can improve it. We keep this minimal.
Payment information. Payments are handled by a payment processor. Your full card details never reach our servers, and we do not store them.
4. How we use it
- To work out what your application requires, pre-fill official forms and generate supporting documents.
- To keep you informed: status updates, next steps and things that need your attention.
- To provide support when you ask for it.
- To keep the service secure, and to improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles from your documents.
5. Who we share it with
- Government authorities and portals, at your direction, to submit and progress your application. This is the point of the service.
- Service providers who help us run First Papers, such as cloud hosting, payments and communications. They receive only what they need, under contracts that restrict how they can use it.
- Legal requirements. If a law, court or authority validly requires us to disclose information, we comply.
We do not sell your data. We do not rent it. We do not share it with anyone for marketing.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your documents and application data for the duration of your application and for 90 days after it completes, in case you need corrections or copies. After that, we delete them. You can ask us to delete your data earlier at any time by writing to firstpapersteam@gmail.com. A small set of records, such as payment and tax records, may be kept longer where the law requires it.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it by withdrawing consent. You can also raise a grievance with us, and nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. Write to firstpapersteam@gmail.com; we may verify your identity before acting, which protects you.
8. How we protect it
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access within our team is restricted to what is needed to serve you. The Data Security page describes our practices in more detail.
9. Cookies
We use a small set of cookies to keep you signed in and to understand basic usage of the site. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you through the service or by email before it takes effect.
11. Grievances and contact
For privacy questions or grievances, write to the Grievance Officer, First Papers Technologies Pvt. Ltd., at firstpapersteam@gmail.com. We acknowledge grievances promptly and aim to resolve them within the timelines required under applicable Indian law.
